Editing

Content Editing

I read your content (paper, book, website content, etc.), for overarching thematic or content issues, and provide detailed feedback with suggestions on how to fix the issues. Whether you're an experienced creative writer, a student working on their first thesis, or a freelancer struggling to find the write tone for their website, I can help!

Line editing & copyediting

I carefully read your content and edit for language use, style, and accuracy. I'll also check for spelling, grammar, and overall tone-of-voice. Depending on the project, I can also prepare a tone-of-voice guide with you before so we're on the same page. This option is best for content that you're pretty confident about, but want someone else to look over to make sure it sounds clear and uniform.

Proofreading

This is the last step in the editing process. I'll do an edit just checking for spelling, grammar issues, and formatting mistakes. Choose this option if you've done all your rewrites and editing and just want one last check before hitting publish.

SEO Editing

For online content, SEO optimization is essential. I can rework your online content to seamlessly include keywords to help your website reach the first page of Google's search results.

Since every content, copy, and editing job is unique, there's no one true way, but here's a suggested step-by-step plan from booking me to a finished product.

1. Book a free, 30-minute consultation on my store. Be prepared with a description of what you want, when you need it finished by, and any specific requests.

2. During our consultation, I'll work with you to decide what services suit you best and will come up with a tentative price.

3. Within a week after our consultation, I will send you a proposal and contract for the project, including a deadline, predicted price, and some content suggestions.

4. Within 2 weeks of receiving my proposal, either return the signed contract and I can begin work, or schedule another 30-minute consultation to further discuss the project.

5. During the project, I will send updates, and if necessary, we will schedule more meetings, depending on the complexity of your project.

6. You'll receive the finished product.

7. For most products, there will be the opportunity for limited rewrites within a certain period of time.

Content writing tends to be longer-form content that provides information. Contact me if you need blogs, white papers, newsletters, your memoirs, a book or short story, or articles.

Scriptwriting & Libretto

Copywriting

Reading

Beta Reading

Have you just finished your novel and want someone outside your support group to read it? I can read your manuscript and provide feedback. Before I read, we can discuss what kind of feedback you want and how detailed it should be. Common requests are whether the characters feel developed, obvious inconsistencies, and whether there are overused tropes or missing information.

Honestly, the price really depends on the product. If you need content about a very technical topic that requires lots of research, I'll charge more than I would for a more basic biography.

Generally, writing content costs more than editing. SEO writing is even more, while fiction writing is on the lower end.

Most content writing is by cents per word,. My basic fiction price is 10 cents per word and my white paper, intensive research project price is up to 50 cents per word. However, if you need a lot of content or want to book regular content (for example, weekly blogs for your website or new product descriptions), then we can work out a price that suits everyone.

All that is to say - my prices are flexible. Book a free consultation and we can work together to come up with a plan that both you and I are happy with. I know that many people are struggling more today, so please don't let cost deter you from reaching out!
